I am very pleased and excited to reblog this post by Laura White, formally of Ashoka's Changemakers Network via Edutopia.  DEEP design thinking and Mount Vernon's Center for Design Thinking is featured in this article.   A year ago, Mount Vernon became an Ashoka Changemaker school, "Ashoka strives to make empathy, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving (what we call changemaker skills) as valued in education as traditional academic skills, so that all students find their voices and can make a positive impact on the world." "...a national community of leading elementary schools that serve as models for cultivating these skills in students."  I could not be a more proud Director of the Center for Design Thinking to be included in the article from Edutopia.
